I'm happy to say I have a FO to report. I've finished my shapely shawlette. Just in time. I wanted to be able to take it on my trip. I really should be packing. I leave the house about 7:30 am. I'm going to the States for a couple of weeks. I'm not taking much since I know I'll do a bit of shopping there. I should be doing some cleaning to but who wants to do that? I guess I ought to quit stalling and get busy. I can't decide what to take to work on on the plane either. I've loaded lots of audio books onto the iPod. Let me just share a few pictures of the shawlette. I tried to do a shot in the bathroom mirror but it's rather hard when you want a pic of the back. It took several tries but here ya go.
I've been researching cars for a few months. I came to Germany with every intention of going back with an Audi. I've always wanted one. I had that Mercedes rental awhile back and while it was very nice, when it comes down to it, I just really didn't want a car. I did want something smaller than the huge truck I've been driving. I like being able to just slide in and out of the vehicle, not having to sink down into a car or climb up into a truck. I decided on another SUV. I drove a Jeep Cherokee for years. I always liked the Jeep but always wished it had been just a bit bigger. I looked at all the SUV type cars (on-line, of course) and I decided on a Honda Pilot. I had never heard of them. I had planned on waiting until July, even had a deposit on one that was due here in July. Last month I asked myself, why am I waiting? I checked with the dealer and they had one that had just come in and was now available. It still took 3 weeks before I actually got it. It had to be shipped down from the port and all the paperwork done. Not anything like buying a car in the states. I've had it a week now and I just love it. I got leather interior with heated seats, moon roof and the DVD built in. My son thinks that is the greatest. He wanted me to drive him around last Sat just so he could watch a movie.
